Abstract:

Component-less termination for electromagnetic couplers used in high speed/frequency differential signaling is described. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a first signal line and a second signal line forming a differential pair, a first electromagnetic coupler to provide sampled electromagnetic signals from the first signal line, and a second electromagnetic coupler to provide sampled electromagnetic signals from the second signal line, wherein the first electromagnetic coupler is far end short circuited and wherein the second electromagnetic coupler is far end open circuited. Abstract:

A method and apparatus is described herein for pulse shift modulation of output waveforms for reducing crosstalk on interconnects. Based on input pulses/bits, an output waveform is selectively delayed by a shift value to ensure transitions in a first direction occur in a first half of a period and transitions in a second direction occur in a second half of the period. When the same pulse shift modulation is implemented on surrounding traces, certain worst-case crosstalk scenarios are reduced; thus reducing crosstalk and increasing performance in power consumption and speed of data transfer.

Abstract:

Urinary Cyr61 protein levels are up regulated in patients that have cancers of epithelial origin, i. e. breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Accordingly, the present invention is directed to methods for prognostic evaluation, and diagnosis of cancers of epithelial origin. Further, the amount of Cyr61 protein detected in a urine sample correlates with disease status such that Cyr61 levels can be used to predict the presence of, as well as the metastatic potential of cancer. Thus, measuring the level of Cyr61 in urine provides a quick, easy, and safe screen that can be used to both diagnose and prognose cancer in a patient.

Abstract:

Described herein is a method and system for formatting encoded video data. The encoder core makes use of unit structures with types that are undefined. These units are inserted into the encoder core output to carry additional information to a transport module. The transport module interprets the units for packetizing and/or multiplexing purposes. After being interpreted, the units may be taken out from the encoder core output, but there should be no adverse effects even if they are left in since no decoding process is defined for their particular type.

Abstract:

De-ringing operation for image processing. A selective image processing means is presented herein by which high frequency content is preserved while also eliminating ringing within digital images, and this is achieved without introducing aliasing. Based on the analysis of neighboring pixels, one or more of multiple filter modules and/or multiple image filtering/rocessing means is/are selectively applied to generate an output sample for a given pixel location. Two measures (e. g. , local activity (LA) and edge strength (ES)) are calculated based on processing at least two different groups of pixels near a desired output sample. One of these groups of pixels may be a subset of another of the groups of pixels. By analyzing these two measures (e. g. , LA and ES), selective processing of pixels near the desired output location ensures that high frequency content within the digital image is preserved with substantially reduced and/or eliminated ringing therein.
