Abstract:

A snag-free and stress-free fish catcher includes a supporting frame, a fish pocket, having a fish cavity, supported by the supporting frame, and a tension resting bed, having a tension surface, supported within the fish cavity, wherein the tension surface of the tension resting bed has a predetermined tension larger than a weight of the fish. Therefore, when the fish is captured within the fish cavity of the fish pocket, the fish lies on the tension surface of the tension resting bed in a flatten manner.

Abstract:

Different targets in a sample are assayed utilizing a control substrate and different sets of detector substrates, each set being adapted to capture a particular target. The substrates contain identifiers such as fluorescent dyes, which generate signals in a detection step. To minimize false negatives and false positives and misidentification of detector substrates, expected signals from the substrates are calculated based on the signals from the control substrate, and this data is utilized to determine what targets are present in a sample.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for processing and analyzing samples are disclosed. The system may process samples, such as biological fluids, using assay cartridges which can be processed at different processing locations. In some cases, the system can be used for PCR processing. The different processing locations may include a preparation location where samples can be prepared and an analysis location where samples can be analyzed. To assist with the preparation of samples, the system may also include a number of processing stations which may include processing lanes. During the analysis of samples, in some cases, thermal cycler modules and an appropriate optical detection system can be used to detect the presence or absence of certain nucleic acid sequences in the samples. The system can be used to accurately and rapidly process samples.

A temperature-controlled massage node that imparts either or both a heating or cooling effects is provided, which may be attached to a massager to impart a heating or cooling effect on a user with a massage effect, or optionally, without a massage effect. The temperature-controlled massage node may be affixed to the massager or may be removably coupled. The temperature-controlled massage node may be powered by the same power source as the massager or may include an independent power source located, for example, in the massage node. The massage node may be used with a massager that provides percussive massage effects, such as a massage gun, or may be used with a vibrating massager.
