Perform basic lab and testing procedures according to standards. Perform phlebotomy and EKGs/ICGs. Administer over-the-counter medications, injections including immunizations as ordered by physician. Demonstrate appropriate population specific techniques with patients. Document administration of over-the-counter medications and/or other medications in the patient medical record per policy. Clean, prepare and stock exam rooms, treatment rooms, and workstations. Call patients regarding follow-up test, results, medical instruction, and patient education under the direction of a Physician. Call in prescriptions under the direction of a Physician. Document patient care information in the outpatient medical record according to standards. Assist with scheduling or patient test, procedures, and follow-up appointments. Assist in the care, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment and instruments. Maintain the inventory of medical and linen supplies. Maintain quality control for equipment Provide cross coverage to the other clinical areas as assigned. Participate in quality improvement projects. Follow appropriate practice guidelines as approved by practice physician. All other duties as assigned.
