U. of C. Medical Center reaches $10 million settlement in James Tyree case
A probate document said the Tyree family has a "cause of action" against the medical center for "causing the death" of James Tyree. The probate court docket mentions a "petition to settle cause of action (wrongful death)." No lawsuit was filed.
Sun-Times Media filed for bankruptcy in March 2009 and was led out of bankruptcy later that year by an investment group headed by Mesirow Financial president James Tyree. Tyree died earlier this year.
