Abstract:

A printing plate useful in lithographic printing is prepared by the process comprising: (a) applying an alkali soluble composition comprising at least one polymer composition to a hydrophilic surface on a substrate to provide the surface face with at least one layer which is alkali soluble at a pH in the range of about 6. 0 to 14. 0; (b) imaging the coated substrate electrostatically with a toner composition; (c) heating the imaged substrate a first time to a temperature greater than the glass transition temperature of the toner composition; (d) contacting the imaged substrate with an aqueous alkaline solution having a pH in the range of about 6. 0 to about 14. 0; and (e) heating the imaged substrate a second time to a temperature greater than the glass transition temperature of the toner composition. This printing plate is capable of long runs on press with good image quality and advantageously minimizes the occurrence of undesirable background toner âspeckingâ on press. Accordingly, the printing plate is satisfactory for demanding printing tasks such as four-color newspaper printing, financial printing and the like.

Abstract:

A system and method are provided for canceling interference present in a local channel signal received at a receiver. The system includes a controller and a finger demodulator assembly. The controller is capable of selecting at least one interfering pilot channel signal that has a signal strength above a threshold, where the selected interfering pilot channel signals comprises an interfering set of pilot channel signals. The finger demodulator assembly can then be capable of producing a corrected local channel signal based upon the interfering set of pilot channel signals during the idle state and/or access state.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for determining a present value of an option on a security having a fixed cash flow leg based upon a Martingale. The Martingale may be based upon a ratio of the present value of the option and a numeraire. The numeraire may be a coupon annuity which may be based on coupons of the security post expiry of the option, accrual periods of the coupon, and spread-adjusted discount factors for coupon dates of the option. The spread-adjusted discount factor may be based on an instantaneous forward rate and a time-varying spread. The present value of the option may be determined based upon a spread, a notional value of the security, and an expectation of a maximum value of (1) a difference between an artificial strike coupon and a forward swap rate and (2) zero. This spread may equal a difference between the forward swap rate and a strike coupon or the strike coupon divided by the forward swap rate.
