Abstract:

A valve is provided for a hydraulic system having a source of pressurized fluid, a fluid actuator, and a proportional pressure compensating valve. The valve has a bore in fluid communication with the source and the fluid actuator. The valve also has a valve element disposed in the bore and movable between a flow blocking position and a flow passing position to selectively fluidly communicate the source with the fluid actuator. The valve also has a valve signal passageway disposed within the valve element and configured to be in fluid communication with a pressurized fluid having a signal pressure indicative of pressure supplied to the fluid actuator. The valve further has first and second orifices disposed within the valve element in fluid communication with the valve signal passageway and the bore. The valve signal passageway is configured to communicate the signal pressure with the first and second orifices. Movement of the valve element from the flow blocking position to the flow passing position fluidly communicates the first orifice with a system signal passageway before the second orifice, and fluidly communicates both the first and second orifices with the system signal passageway when the valve element is in the flow passing position.

Abstract:

A hydraulic system may include a hydraulic actuator. The hydraulic system may also include a pump having a pump inlet and a pump outlet, and the pump may be configured to supply fluid to the hydraulic actuator. The hydraulic system may further include an energy recovery system operatively connected between the hydraulic actuator and the pump. The energy recovery system may be configured to store fluid from the hydraulic actuator under an overrunning load condition, and the stored fluid may be directed through the pump inlet and into the hydraulic actuator.

Abstract:

This disclosure relates to a hydraulic system and method that converts the kinetic energy generated by the operation of a swing motor into hydraulic potential energy and reuses the hydraulic potential energy for swing motor acceleration. An accumulator can be provided for storing exit oil from the swing motor that is pressurized by the inertia torque applied on the moving motor via movement of an upper structure of a machine. The pressurized oil in the accumulator can be reused to accelerate the swing motor by supplying pressurized oil to the swing motor.

Abstract:

A hydraulic system for an earth-moving vehicle may include first and second hydraulic cylinders, first and second hydraulic pumps and control valves including a combiner valve to modulate hydraulic fluid and pressure from the first and second hydraulic pumps to the first and second hydraulic cylinders as appropriate for the task being performed. If the task is digging, the first and second cylinders may be associated with tilting and lifting, respectively, and the control valves may be oriented so as to make each pump dedicated to one of the cylinders, and if demand is not being met, to then diminish power to the drivetrain to allow the tilting and lifting to be performed. The combiner valve may or may not be open during this time. If the task is not digging, the combiner valve can be opened to allow for cross-flow between the pumps and the cylinders.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus are disclosed for providing fully integrated information processing, management and communication functions in a fully integrated RIS-PACS system for a radiology department/healthcare environment by employing brokerless interface methods to synchronize patient and exam data entities in a radiology information system (RIS) database and a picture archive and communication system (PACS) database within the RIS-PACS system and to generate direct database calls to the RIS and PACS databases. The running of RIS and PACS applications within the RIS-PACS system is initiated from client workstations over a web interface. Information from the databases is accessed by the client workstations. Also, the system may communicate between internal PACS applications and an external RIS system over a HL7-based interface or between internal RIS applications and an external PACS system over a standard medical communications interface such as HL7 and DICOM.

Abstract:

A hydraulic system for a machine is disclosed. The hydraulic system has a source of pressurized fluid and a fluid actuator with a first chamber. The hydraulic system also has a first valve configured to selectively fluidly communicate the source with the first chamber. The first valve further includes a first element movable between a flow passing, at which fluid from the source flows to the first chamber, and a flow blocking position, at which fluid from the source is blocked from the first chamber and a second element configured to selectively drain a control passageway associated with the first element to cause the first element to move. The hydraulic system further has a proportional pressure compensating valve configured to control a pressure of a fluid directed between the source and the first valve dependent upon the pressure of the control passageway.

Abstract:

A cybersecurity system includes a controller that functions as a gateway between an end user device and an offline data storage device. When the end user device wants to access a file on the offline data storage device the controller severs a connection between a temporary storage memory and the end user device, establishes a connection with the offline data storage device, pulls the data from the offline data storage device to a temporary storage memory, then severs the connection with the offline data storage device, then establishes the connection with the end user device and communicates the data from the temporary storage memory to the end user device before overwriting the data in the temporary storage memory.
