Abstract:

A variety of methods and compositions are disclosed, including, in one embodiment a method a cementing in a subterranean formation comprising: providing a set-delayed cement composition comprising water, pumice, hydrated lime, and a set retarder; foaming the set-delayed cement composition; activating the set-delayed cement composition; introducing the set-delayed cement composition into a subterranean formation; and allowing the set-delayed cement composition to set in the subterranean formation. A liquid additive composition comprising a particulate material, an organic carrier fluid, a viscosifier, and an alcohol alkoxylate surfactant; wherein the particulate material is substantially insoluble in the organic carrier fluid; wherein the particulate material comprises a water-interactive material and/or a water-insoluble material; wherein the organic carrier fluid comprises a glycol and/or a glycol ether; and wherein the viscosifier comprises amorphous silica. Abstract:

A treatment fluid can include: a base fluid, wherein the base fluid comprises water; and a lost-circulation material, wherein the lost-circulation material comprises a polymer network having at least one branching point formed with a monomer and a cross-linking agent that comprises at least three active functional groups. The treatment fluid can maintain a pressure differential of at least 1 psi when tested with a cylindrical void that has a diameter of 0.02 inches. The monomer can be a vinyl ester-based monomer that is polymerized with the cross-linking agent to form the polymer network. The treatment fluid can be used in an oil and gas operation.

Abstract:

Disclosed herein is a liquid salt activator comprising a salt, a suspending aid, and water, wherein the salt is present in the liquid salt activator in an amount of from about 5 wt. % to about 95 wt. %, based on the total weight of the liquid salt activator. Also disclosed herein is an activated extended life slurry (ELS) composition comprising a hydraulic cement, a supplementary cementitious material, the liquid salt activator, and an aqueous fluid. The activated ELS composition can be used in a method of servicing a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation.
