Abstract:

Tag suggestions enable a hosting entity such as a website to determine one or more tags to suggest to a user for association with a particular item within an electronic catalog. After this determination, the hosting entity may suggest the determined tags to the user. To determine these tags, the hosting entity may employ techniques to determine items related to the particular item. The hosting entity then suggests some or all of the tags associated with the related items. Additionally or alternatively, the hosting entity may determine certain metadata associated with the particular item. The entity then may suggest this metadata, or some related phrase or tag, to the user for association with the particular item. However the tag suggestions are determined, the hosting entity may rank the tag suggestions to determine which tags to present to the user or to determine an order in which to present the tags.

Abstract:

Abstract:

A system may learn what parameters are required for an item in order to compute tax for the item based on preliminary data regarding the item and/or the transaction. The system may determine a classification code based on such preliminary data and use that classification code to search or query a database storing information indicative of parameters required to compute tax for items having such a classification code. The system may map the received preliminary data into the learned required parameters and determine whether there are any required parameters for which there has not been any preliminary data mapped into them. The system may prompt the customer (e.g., seller of the item) or other user for data values of such missing required parameters or otherwise obtain data values of such parameters in order to compute the tax for the item.

Conversion of data ranges to table objects in an electronic spreadsheet document is provided. When an electronic spreadsheet document is being utilized, data ranges may be automatically converted to tables to allow the user to enjoy the full benefits of the table properties and functionalities. When a data range is automatically converted to a table object, a user will be given an opportunity to revert the table object back to the data range from which it was converted. Instead of automatic conversion, a suggestion may be provided to a user before a data range is converted to a table object. If the user accepts the suggestion, then the data range may be automatically converted to a table object.

Technologies are described herein for interpreting character arrangements. An image including an arrangement of characters may be received or captured by a computing device. Techniques described herein generate data representative of the characters. Characteristics and other information interpreted from the image may be processed to determine a data type. The data representative of the characters may be arranged into a data structure based on the data type, an arrangement type and/or other information interpreted from the image. The data type may indicate one or more attributes of the arranged data such as a format, font, date, language, or currency.
