Abstract:
Methods and systems for synchronizing a configuration of resources across multiple computing devices are described. Associated with the master computing device is a configuration of resources that are desired to be synchronized across the additional computing devices. The master computing device is configured to develop a list that describes aspects of its configuration of resources. Additional computing devices are configured to receive the list that is developed by the master computing device and evaluate the list to determine whether its particular configuration of resources is synchronized with those of the master computing device. If a particular additional computing devices configuration of resources is not synchronized with those of the master computing device, the additional computing device prepares a second list that describes its resource configuration needs and sends the second list to the master computing device. The master computing device receives the second list, evaluates it, and sends data to the corresponding additional computing device for use in synchronizing its configuration of resources.

Abstract:
A system and method for evaluating one or more interventions having a direct or indirect impact on a disease identification or a disease progression incorporating a causal framework to establish relationships among the disease, complications, and comorbidities. The system and method determines population groups and risk factors for the disease, complications, and comorbidities. The system and method structures and calibrates a simulation model of the relationships, population groups, and risk factors and characterizes interventions. The system and method analyzes the characterized interventions to determine the direct or indirect impact of the interventions on the disease identification or progression using the simulation model. An indication of the impact of the interventions is provided on an electronic display or to a memory device.
Method And Apparatus For Controlling Unsolicited Messages In A Messaging Network Using An Authoritative Domain Name Server

Abstract:
Methods for controlling unsolicited messages in a messaging network using an authoritative domain name (DNS) server, in which a requester intending to send an e-mail message to a recipient queries the DNS server associated with the recipient's domain. The response sent from the DNS server is dependent upon a security policy associated with the requester, which results from interrogations to determine the probability that the requester is sending unsolicited messages or spam. A validity factor is set to a first indicator if the request passes or to a second indicator if the request fails. The response from the DNS server provides the network address if the validity factor is set to the first indicator. A suitable not-the-network-address response is sent if the validity factor is set to the second indicator. The authoritative DNS server thereby controls, blocks, or reroutes the message and lightens the load on the recipient's mail server and ISP(s).

Abstract:
A communication system employed during wellbore operations, such as during drilling, cementing, fracturing, or other wellbore operations, which utilizes ultrasound (i.e., acoustic waves characterized by ultrasonic frequencies) to communicate sensor and/or control information from inside a riser and/or blowout preventer (BOP) to outside the riser/BOP, and/or vice versa. More specifically, the communication system may include an internal ultrasonic module (IUM) residing inside the riser/BOP and acoustically coupled to a drill string and/or a centralizer also inside the riser/BOP. The communication system may further include an external ultrasonic module (EUM) residing outside the riser/BOP and acoustically coupled to the riser/BOP. The ultrasound may traverse from the IUM to the EUM, and vice versa, using a communication path that may include propagation of the ultrasound through the drill string, the centralizer, and the riser/BOP without traversal through fluids contained within a fluid column enclosed by the riser/BOP.
