Abstract:

An improved method and apparatus for processing video data is provided. A video subsystem generates first and second fields of video image data. First fields of video image data need not be sent over a common bus, but instead can be sent over a port connection (such as the Zoom Video port connection) to the graphics subsystem for display. Second fields of video image data can be sent over the bus to a processor subsystem for compression and eventual transmission to a remote user via a modem or the like. Because the video subsystem generates first and second fields of video image data (e. g. , an even and odd field for each frame), the video image data for local display need not be sent over the bus to the processor subsystem and need not be converted by the processor subsystem. This results in a savings in bus usage and processor execution needs.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for allowing multiple electronic systems to share a Universal Serial Bus (USB) device is disclosed. In one embodiment, the electronic systems and the USB device are connected to a switcher. The switcher performs bus enumeration to acquire USB device information and presents a number of images of the acquired USB device information to the electronic systems. The switcher also maintains logical links between the connected electronic systems and the USB device. Lastly, the switcher selects one of the connected electronic systems to communicate USB data packets with the USB device.

Abstract:

The present invention discloses method and system of encoding audio information (e. g. , music, speech, etc. ) from an analog medium (e. g. , vinyl recordings, cassette tapes, etc. ) into a compressed, track-oriented, digital format using attribute information and silence detection. The invention generates an analog audio signal by reproducing the audio information recorded on the analog medium, which is recorded on a plurality of discrete analog tracks. The analog audio signal is then sampled to generate a digital audio file (i. e. , WAV file). The digital audio file is filtered to correct defects and then separated into a plurality of discrete digital audio tracks. Attribute information, such as track length, is accessed and confirmed by silence detection techniques in order to provide separation. This separation is accomplished such that each of the discrete digital audio tracks contains audio information corresponding to each of the discrete analog tracks, and are thus, arranged in a track-oriented digital format. Abstract:

A random access memory (RAM) device that allocates memory cells to first-in first-out (FIFO) memory. The RAM device has an array of addressable memory cells that are selected by row and column decoders. The memory cells and decoders have dual read and write lines that allow simultaneous read and write operations on the memory cells. The memory cells can store data from at least two data streams including, by way of example, a stream of U data and a stream of V data from an input device such as a YUV video processor. The RAM device includes a control circuit which generates separate read and write pointers for the U and V data. The control circuit also generates separate U and V minimum and almost full trigger pointers. Data is written into the memory cells until a write pointer reaches either a minimum trigger pointer or an almost full trigger pointer. When a write pointer exceeds a minimum or almost full trigger pointer, the control circuit requests that data be read from the memory cells so that morse data can be written into the memory cells.

Abstract:

Disclosed are small molecules capable of activating the type I interferon (IFN) response by way of the transcription factor IFN regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) were identified. A high throughput in vitro screen yielded 4-(2-chloro-6-fluorobenzyl)-N-(furan-2-ylmethyl)-3-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[b][1,4]thiazine-6-carboxamide (referred to herein as G10), which was found to trigger IRF3/IFN-associated transcription in human fibroblasts. To define cellular proteins essential to elicitation of the antiviral activity by the compound a reverse genetics approach that utilized genome editing via CRISPR/Cas9 technology was employed. This allowed the identification of IRF3, the IRF3-activating adaptor molecule STING, and the IFN-associated transcription factor STAT1 as required for observed gene induction and antiviral effects.
