Abstract:

A truck is disclosed including a stock cab, a stock truck bed and a stock truck frame with these components mismatched to provide a space between the cab and the bed for a enclosed storage assembly extending as a box laterally across the truck and enclosed to the frame. The box includes doors to either side and neither the box nor the doors extend above the top of the sidewalls of the truck bed. The box may include a pivotally mounted top. A mounting assembly enclosely attaches the box to each longitudinal beam of the truck frame. The assembly includes a tab to mount to a mounting point on the truck frame. A J-bolt is associated with a bracket on the assembly and extends to a hole in the truck frame to engage the hole in tension. A locating tab is on the other side of the assembly from the J-bolt to cooperate with the J-bolt to laterally locate the mounting assembly on the frame.

Abstract:

Rollers are fastened to a chassis which is removably held to a bottom of a backpack by hook and loop fasteners. The rollers are on legs which are rotatably mounted at one end so the rollers can be moved from a first, compact position to a second, expanded position to provide better stability to the backpack which rests on the rollers. Another hook and loop area on the backpack can be used to store the rollers and chassis when they are removed from the bottom of the backpack.

Abstract:

Apparatus and method for forming compound shaped surfaces. A skin conforming to the visual shape of the surface being formed is prepared from a blank sheet of material that is cut to size and includes any desired stamped-out detailing or notched edges or lines. Disposable strips of material are used to form hems in the skin. A preforming die is used to create tight bends or outer contours in the skin. A liner of the desired size and detailing is formed along with two-shaped side flanges. A plurality of ribs or silhouettes are provided and placed into the skin to form and maintain the desired final shape. The pre-formed liner is then assembled to the skin, the ribs being disposed between the liner and the skin.
