Abstract:

A method and apparatus for multiplying a plurality of samples of first and second analog signals and summing the products there obtained. In stages of a first charge coupled device (CCD), charge packets corresponding to samples of the first analog signal are separated by charge packets corresponding to a first bias potential. In stages of a second CCD, charge packets corresponding to samples of the second analog signal are separated by charge packets corresponding to a second bias potential. In each step, a sum-of-products of samples and bias potentials is obtained. In circuitry coupled to the CCDs including switches and charge storage devices, the switches are operated to charge the charge storage devices with current or charges corresponding to sums-of-products of the signal samples and the bias potentials so as to provide via an output charge storage device, current corresponding to only the sums-of-products of the samples of the first and second analog signals without erroneous contributions due to multiplier threshold non-uniformities. Apparatus implementing the method can perform such functions as auto-correlation, cross-correlation, convolution, transversal filtering, and analog matrix multiplication, for example. In one aspect of the apparatus of the present invention, a first charge transfer analog delay means includes one charge transfer shift register channel and a second charge transfer delay means includes two charge transfer shift register channels.

An apparatus and method for separating nitrogen within a single column nitrogen generator in which refrigeration is added by waste expansion. Part of the incoming air stream after having been partially cooled is turbo-expanded to increase the refrigeration supplied, thereby to allow the removal of the liquid nitrogen product.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for separating out is used to produce an oxygen product in which an air stream after having been compressed and purified is introduced into a bottom reblower located in a bottom region of the distillation column to produce boil up in such distillation column. The resultant air stream liquefies to produce a liquid air stream. The liquid air stream after having been valve expanded is stripped within the distillation column to produce a column bottoms which can be extracted as a product stream that is vaporized within a main heat exchanger. Product stream can be pressurized by being pumped to atmospheric a pressure hence liquefying a further compressed air stream to produce further liquid air is also stripped within the distillation column. The distillation column operates at near atmospheric pressures that is pressures between 1 and 1. 3 bar absolute.

Abstract:

A signal processing system that includes a ring bus; a multiplicity of system modules, each coupled to the ring bus and operative to receive and transfer blocks of data words over the ring bus; and a bus control module coupled to the ring bus and operative to support simultaneous data transfers between specified pairs of system modules in accordance with concurrent execution of multiple programs of data transfer instructions. In an alternate embodiment, the signal processing system may include a plurality of ring buses wherein each system module is coupled to all of the ring buses and operative to receive and transfer blocks of data words over any one of the ring buses. In addition, the bus control module is also coupled to all of the ring buses and operative to support simultaneous data transfers between specified pairs of system modules over all of the ring buses. Moreover, each ring bus may comprise individual bus segments for system module to system module coupling about the ring.

Abstract:

A digital signal processing system and more especially a programmable bulk memory included therein comprising a plurality of memory sections independently controlled and simultaneously operative for transferring blocks or vectors of digital data words directly between selected memory sections and external data handling units while maintaining the corresponding variety of data handling throughput rates thereof without the need for input-output buffer type memories coupled therebetween is disclosed.
