Abstract:

A video processing system is operable to perform one or more display queue trick (DQT) operations utilizing decoded frames queued in memory. The decoded frames are generated from the start of random access points (RAPs) in frame segments in an encoded video stream. Location of RAPs may be determined during decoding of the encoded video stream. Exemplary encoding scheme comprise MPEG, AVC and/or VC1. The DQT modes include forward and/or reverse display modes. The used frames are selected based on determination of DQT mode parameters, queuing limitations and/or frame properties of selected and/or unselected frames in the frame segments. Frame properties comprise frame discardability and/or display inter-frame dependencies between selected and/or unselected frames. The video processing system is operable to jump to preceding and/or subsequent RAPs during DQT mode operations. The video processing system is also operable to skip one or more RAPs during such jumps.

Abstract:

A method is provided for fabricating a nanochannel. The method comprises providing a microchannel and controlling collapse of the microchannel so that it collapses to form a nanochannel of desired dimensions. The method employs a collapsible, flexible material such as the elastomer polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) to form the nanochannel. A master is provided that is configured to have geometric conditions that promote a desired frequency of microchannel collapse. A collapsible material having a stiffness that also promotes a desired frequency of microchannel collapse is molded on the master. The molded collapsible material is removed from the master and bonded to a base, thereby forming the microchannel, which then collapses (or is collapsed) to form the nanochannel of desired dimensions. Nanofluidic and microfluidic devices comprising complex nanochannel structures and micro to nanochannel transitions are also provided.

The image processor in turn features a pulser configured to energize the ultrasound transducer of the rotatable imaging assembly with a multi-frequency ultrasound waveform signal. The image processor further contains a receiver configured to decompose received ultrasound energy as reflected by the target vessel into a plurality of individual subband signals, individually process these signals and reconstitute these signals into a high resolution image of the blood vessel. The IVUS system of the invention may be useful in characterizing cap thickness of vulnerable plaques or other detailed studies of blood vessels.
