Abstract:

A method and apparatus for limiting the height of media inserted into a media tray of an image forming apparatus while also allowing for the inserted media to expand due to changing environmental conditions is described herein. An exemplary stack height limiting system comprises an elongated arm with a striking end spaced from a control end, where the arm is movable between first and second positions. A limiter positioned relative to the arm defines the first position, where the striking end is spaced from the bottom surface of the tray by a first gap. As media disposed in the tray expands beyond the first gap, the expanding media moves the arm to form a second, greater distance between the striking end and the bottom surface of the tray. As a result, pinch points between the first end and the media are avoided.

The narrowed portion of the tube decreases the volume and velocity between the arterial and venous side of the patient to prevent damage or intimal hyperplasia on the venous side between dialysis treatments. When the valve is opened for dialysis, an unrestricted blood flow exists between the arterial and venous side, permitting a controlled, open blood flow during dialysis.

Abstract:

The application includes various embodiments of devices and methods for mounting a motor within an image forming apparatus. The motor is mounted on a frame and positioned to engage and drive a component within the image forming apparatus. In one embodiment, the component is an imaging unit. The frame includes an opening to receive the motor. A locating member is attached to the frame and extends into the opening to contact the motor and provide accurate positioning for engagement with the component. The locating ring provides for a press fit with lower forces. Additional fasteners may fixedly connect the motor to the frame and maintain the accurate positioning provided by the locating member.

Abstract:

A mining block carried by power-operated moving apparatus which is apertured to receive and retain the mounting shanks of elongate mining bits having a sharp wear point extending beyond the block. A block has an open-ended cylindrical recess which ensmalls at the base to a smaller coaxial recess. A conical shoulder at the juncture of the two recesses provides a step for the inner and base end of a mining bit to serve as a wear surface. A retainer on the shank above the base end holds the shank within the cylindrical recess. This eliminates wear at the mouth of the open-ended recess and prolongs the life of the mining block.
