    D05B 2100
  • US Classification:
    11247017
  • Abstract:
A locker patch attachment system (30) for attaching a locker patch (10) having an arcuate edge (12) to a garment (11) by sewing about the arcuate edge of the locker patch as the garment and locker patch are automatically pivoted about a sewing machine (32) by a patch pivot assembly (70) and a body pivot assembly (105). The patch pivot assembly (70) and body pivot assembly (105) rotate at the same angular speed and about the common axis. alpha. which is displaced from the needle (22) of the sewing machine (32). The patch pivot assembly (70) includes a pivot plate (72) that holds the garment and locker patch in a fixed, overlaid relationship and rotates in order to pivot the garment and locker patch about the sewing machine (32). The body pivot assembly (105) includes a body gripping arm (108) and body panel plate (152) that engage and hold the body portion (16) as the body pivot assembly (105) rotates about the sewing machine (32), maintaining the locker patch and garment in a fixed radial alignment as they are pivoted about the sewing machine (32). A stacker (211) automatically removes the garment from the sewing machine (32) once the locker patch has been attached thereto.

  • US Classification:
    112 63
  • Abstract:
An overlock stitch is formed by sewing machine (11) (FIG. 1) into a work product (34) and the work product is accelerated away from the sewing machine so as to stretch the thread chain (FIG. 5). The stretched thread chain is cut by cutter (40), and the leading thread chain (43) recoils back toward the hollow chaining tongue (21) and is drawn into the chaining tongue by the stream of air (26) created by vacuum canister (52) (FIG. 6). The next work product draws the leading thread chain out of the hollow chaining tongue and the sewing machine captures the leading thread chain in the stitch. Transfer conveyor (15) (FIG. 1) moves the work product (34) into alignment with everter tube assembly (106), grippers (109) and (110) grip and open one end of the work product (FIGS. 9-14), and air drawn through the everter tube assembly everts the work product. The gripper tube assembly opens along its lower portion (FIG.
  • System For Automatically Sewing An Imitation Cuff

    view source
  • US Patent:
    55245633, Jun 11, 1996
  • Filed:
    Jul 18, 1995
  • Appl. No.:
    8/504141
  • Inventors:
Erie G. Huddleston - Dacula GA
  • Assignee:
Atlanta Attachment Company, Inc. - Lawrenceville GA
  • International Classification:
    D05B 3502
  • US Classification:
    112141
  • Abstract:
An attachment for a sewing machine which automatically conveys and folds cloth into an imitation cuff prior to sewing. The attachment comprises a conveyor which is modified to accept a tuck fold blade, an imitation cuff folder and an edge trimmer. After the material is conveyed through the edge trimmer, the imitation cuff folder forms an edge fold and a tuck fold in the material, as it is conveyed to the sewing area. The imitation cuff folder has two slots which guide the cloth into the two folds. The material is positioned in the folder by an edge fold tongue, which is attached to the imitation cuff folder and by the tuck fold blade which guides a portion from the center of the cloth into the tuck fold slot. The attachment converts to a plain hem configuration by retracting the tuck fold blade and adjusting the position of the edge trimmer.
