An air diffuser for use in drop ceiling construction is described in which a discharge air pattern extending substantially parallel to the surface of the ceiling is achieved. The air diffuser comprises a hood forming a plenum chamber with a plurality of parallel elongated ceiling panels which are spaced apart to form slotted discharge openings. The elongated edges of the panels are formed in an arc which is tangential with the flat ceiling defining surfaces of the panels. A deflector member is secured along one curved edge of each panel, the deflector being curved in a reverse direction and extending in overlapping relationship to the opening between the panels. Air from the plenum chamber follows the contour of the deflector and around the curved edge of the adjoining panel, discharging along the flat ceiling forming surface of the panel.
An electrical pulse acupressure system which provides for an electrical pulse generator connected to an electrical pulse applicator. The entire unit may be located within the outer ear of a human being or the electrical pulse generator could be located exteriorly of the human ear. The electrical pulse applicator includes metallic nodules, each of which is to connect with a particular acupuncture point within the human body. The electrical pulse generator is capable of transmitting a plurality of different patterns of waveforms of electrical pulses. There is also provided an electrical pulse generator which is to be connected to a clip which is to be clasped onto a portion of the human body for the conducting of electrical pulses through acupuncture points.
A T-frame member for a drop ceiling, made of rolled sheet metal, in which a web section is joined to a pair of coplanar flange members by a connecting channel section, the flange sections being joined to and extending outwardly from the respective outer edges of the two channel side walls. The inner edges of the flanges form lips projecting toward each other between the side walls. Partition studs having a collar slightly larger than the space between the lips are snapped into the channel sections and are retained by the collar, the studs projecting out through the space between the lips. Clips lock the flanges together after the studs are in place.
Apparatus For Electrical Impulse Acupressure Treatment
An electrical pulse acupressure treatment device which provides for the use of a housing which is to be located in a preselected position upon the human body. Embedded within the surface of the housing that is located next to the skin of the human body is a protruding nodule. This nodule is metallic and will normally be spherical in shape. The nodule is to press against an acupuncture point of the human body. An electrical conductor passes through the housing and it attached to the nodule. This electrical conductor is connected to a source of electrical energy. This source of electrical energy is to transmit pulses of electrical energy in a preselected wave pattern to the nodule. This source is electrically adjustable to vary the current to the nodule.
An air diffuser for directing air through an elongated opening in a drop ceiling in a pattern directed along the plane of the ceiling comprises a plenum chamber from which air is directed through a pair of spaced parallel walls forming a duct communicating with the elongated opening. The opening is narrower than the space between the walls so as to form a ledge adjacent the inside of at least one of the walls. A first baffle positioned in the plenum chamber and projecting into the space between the walls forms a throat through which air is directed downwardly against the ledge, the ledge diverting the air out through the opening in a substantially horizontal pattern. A second horizontal baffle within the plenum chamber directs air through a substantially horizontal throat toward the opposite wall and ledge where the air is redirected out the opening in the same horizontal pattern.
A drop ceiling framework constructed of rolled sheet metal in which a longitudinal T-frame member has a web section formed of two sheet metal layers joined along a longitudinal edge, a channel section formed along the lower edge of the web section, and a pair of flange sections projecting outwardly in a common plane from the open end of the channel section. The flange sections are formed of two layers of sheet metal joined along the outer edge of the flange section. The outer layer of each flange section is notched, exposing the under layer at each position of intersection with cross members of the drop ceiling. The notches are aligned with the channel sections of the cross members to form an extension of the reveal formed by the channel portions of the cross members.
There is described a lighting panel for a drop ceiling of the type in which a plurality of T-frame members are arranged in a grid, forming a pattern of rectangular openings with ceiling panels supported in the openings by the grid. The lighting panel has an outer frame which is slightly smaller than one of the openings, with a light diffusing panel mounted in the frame. The frame is supported from the grid frame members by a pair of support members that project from the outer frame at opposite ends of one side, the projecting support members allowing the one edge of the outer frame to be supported with the panel in a vertical position. The panel is rotated up into a horizontal position within the grid opening and latch means secures the free edge of the outer frame to the grid frame member to hold the lighting panel in place.
An air diffuser for a modular drop ceiling construction in which an annular discharge opening is defined by the inner margin of the ceiling framework members forming a square or rectangular opening and the outer margin of a ceiling panel positioned concentrically in the opening and suspended at the corners from the framework. Air is directed by a conduit and hood against the backside of the ceiling panel and directed outwardly through the rectangular annular space around the margin of the panel. Lateral airflow outwardly from the diffuser along the adjacent ceiling is provided by shaping the margins of the opening to provide either a beveled or step outline in cross section.
