Abstract:
A telecasting service is provided that offers video programs upon viewer demand, and which includes an interactive interface for facilitating viewer selection of video programs. The interactive interface allows the viewer to scan through a list of video programs available on the demand telecasting service. The interactive interface also provides the viewer with still images, full-motion previews, and textual descriptions of the available programs. The demand telecasting service distinguishes subscribers from non-subscribers, and provides an interactive facility for allowing non-subscribers to subscribe to the system.
An optical fiber light includes a light source, a dispersion medium, a power supply, and at least one light tube disposed coaxially along a longitudinal axis of symmetry of the dispersion medium. The light source is integrated with the dispersion medium so that light emitted from the light source is received along the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the dispersion medium. The light tube distributes light along the length of the dispersion medium. Distributed light radiates from the light tube along the length of the dispersion medium.
An auxiliary rearview mirror and light assembly includes a non-incandescent light source, an auxiliary rearview mirror, a power source adapter, and a primary rearview mirror mounting assembly. The primary rearview mirror mounting assembly includes at least one fixed appendage and at least one adjustable appendage. The fixed appendage and the adjustable appendage are positioned in an opposing direction. The adjustable appendage has a bias element that exerts a force on the adjustable appendage in a direction towards the fixed appendage. The adjustable appendage is extensible to fit the primary rearview mirror.
A muffler exhaust tip for a vehicle having a muffler tailpipe includes a substantially hollow, cylindrical muffler tip member with an inboard end adapted to be affixed to the tailpipe and an outboard end. The hollow, cylindrical member is defined by an elongated outer sleeve and a coaxial, perforated inner sleeve which jointly define a baffle interspace therebetween. The inner sleeve carries a plurality of radially inboard protrusions to alter exhaust flow through the muffler exhaust tip. The perforated inner sleeve of the cylindrical member may define a pattern of holes. The baffle interspace may include a layer of fire retardant sound baffling material. The plurality of inboard protrusions define a helix extending through part of the inner sleeve in one embodiment. In another embodiment, part of the outer sleeve of the muffler tip includes a conical reducer such that the inboard end matches the dimensions of the tailpipe.

Vehicle Steering Wheel And Air Bag Antitheft Locking Apparatus
A steering wheel and air bag antitheft locking apparatus for preventing theft of a vehicle or air bag having a steering wheel with a wheel rim and a wheel spoke includes a tubular outer wheel spanning member having a receiving end and a handle end; an elongate inner wheel spanning member having an entry end and an outwardly protruding end, the entry end being telescopingly fitted into the outer wheel spanning member receiving end; where the inner wheel spanning member protruding end has attached a first pair of outwardly opening wheel rim engaging hooks; where one of the handle end and the protruding end protrudes substantially radially from the steering wheel when the apparatus is engaged to prevent turning of the steering wheel sufficiently to drive the vehicle; and where a second pair of outwardly opening wheel rim engaging hooks is attached to the outer wheel spanning member between the receiving end and the handle end; and a key operated locking mechanism which releasibly secures the inner and outer wheel spanning members together at any of several telescopic extensions, the locking mechanism including a key passageway; and a key for operating the locking mechanism including at least three radially extending key edged flanges. Pairs of wheel rim engaging hooks are preferably provided so that the wheel engaging hooks of each pair straddle the steering wheel spoke while engaging the steering wheel rim, to prevent a thief from removing the apparatus using a cut through the wheel rim and sliding one pair of hooks to and through the cut.
