A method of rating a bug, including reporting the bug to a business entity by an interested party, entering information regarding the bug into a database, assigning a priority number for the bug, calculating a sigma number for the bug using the priority number, evaluating the bug to be fixed using the sigma number, and escalating the bug. Abstract:

One embodiment of the present invention provides a system and method for appending server-side glossary definitions to transient Web content in a networked computing environment. A glossary database stores a glossary, which includes a plurality of structured records. Each structured record is keyed by a unique identifier derived from a key word and contains a definition associated with the key word. A parser receives Web content, which includes text in transit to a Web client, and parses the text into one or more tokens corresponding to one such key word. A comparator module matches the tokens against each unique identifier in the glossary and retrieves each structured record containing a matching unique identifier. A constructor inserts a hyperlink in place of the text corresponding to each matched token and references the definition contained in the retrieved structured record for the matching unique identifier.

Abstract:

A plurality of acoustic wave sensing devices can be provided, which are mechanically simulated for implementation upon a quartz wafer substrate. The quartz wafer substrate is appropriately etched to produce a quartz diaphragm from the quartz wafer substrate. A plurality of torque SAW sensing resonators can then be located upon the quartz wafer substrate, which is based upon previously mechanically simulated devices for implementation upon the substrate, together with a quartz cover to thereby produce a quartz torque sensor package from the quartz wafer substrate.

Abstract:

Many sensors could be used in a passive wireless mode. These include RLC, acoustic wave and magneto-elastic sensors. These types of sensors are designed to exhibit a change in fundamental frequency when exposed to environmental factors such as temperature, pressure, or chemicals. An interrogation circuit can inductively couple to the sensor and measure the change in fundamental frequency. The change can be used to measure the environmental factor. Sensor sensitivity and inductive coupling efficiency can be competing design constraints. A driver, electrically connected to the sensor and inductively coupled to the interrogation circuit, can relax the constraints. The driver, however, can introduce noise into the sensor. The sensor can be shielded using physical and geometric techniques to reduce the noise.

Methods and apparatus for determining a level of performance of a first application in a computer system are disclosed. A selection of a second one of a plurality of applications is received. The second application is then executed, thereby producing data indicating one or more levels of performance of the first application. Documentation is then provided, where the documentation is associated with the second application and indicates at least one of a manner of interpreting data indicating one or more levels of performance of the first application and suggesting one or more of the plurality of applications that can provide additional information to assess one or more levels of performance of the application.

A system for scanning email messages to detect and eliminate viruses is disclosed. A recipient's email gateway receives email messages from a network. The email messages are transmitted by the recipient's email gateway to a group of email scannning servers connected to the network. The group of email-scanning servers comprises one or more email-scanning servers. Each of the email-scanning servers includes one or more anti-virus software to scan and clean viruses from the email messages to generate clean email messages. A method for verification of a license agreement of a licensed software application includes selecting a package of the licensed software application, archiving the package to generate an archived package if the package does not require special installation handling, encrypting the archived package to generate an encrypted package, transferring the encrypted package onto a user computer, prompting a user of the user computer to input a verification response for the license agreement, decrypting the encrypted package to generate an archived install package if the verification response equals a predetermined value, un-archiving the archived install package to generate an un-archived install package, and installing the un-archived install package on the user computer.
