Abstract:

A support bracket is constructed and arranged to be secured to a stud on a construction site. The stud will be of a predetermined width and thickness. The support bracket comprises a body with a channel-like body having a side wall, a front wall and a rear wall. The front wall is spaced from rear wall a predetermined distance at least equal to the width of the stud. The lower edge of the rear wall is disposed above the upper edge of the front wall, thereby defining an opening for receiving the stud. A first projection extends rearwardly from the front wall. A second projection extends forward from the rear wall. The first and second projections are spaced from the side wall a distance at least as great as the height of the stud. A third projection extends forwardly from the lower edge of the rear wall for engaging the associated surface of the stud to more firmly fix the support bracket in place on the stud. The interior cross section of the body is complementary to the exterior cross section of the stud. Further, the interior of the body is constructed and arranged to receive and fit closely with the exterior of the stud. A security arrangement is provided on the body to help further secure the body of the support bracket to the stud. The support bracket is readily mounted onto a stud and removed from the stud and can be used over and over again.

Abstract:

An air distribution arrangement is adapted to be arranged in a cabinet for housing rack-mounted equipment that generates heat in use. The arrangement can be part of the cabinet when constructed or it can be an add-on feature. The arrangement includes plenum structure comprising side walls and a top wall that cooperates with the front door of the cabinet and the faces of the rack-mounted equipment to define a plenum. An air box in the cabinet draws ambient air from adjacent the floor into the plenum at a rate of at least 850 cfm. The ambient air is cooler than the air in the cabinet. The faces of the rack-mounted equipment have openings for receiving the ambient air to cool the interiors thereof. After cooling the rack-mounted equipment the air can be exhausted back to the ambient. The side walls and the top wall of the arrangement are adjustable to permit adjustment of the depth of the plenum. Pressure in the plenum can be relieved by slots in the plenum structure.

Abstract:

A fabrication strip for use in construction of walls, joists, and rafters. The fabrication strip comprises an elongated strip of material having a base and a plurality of first and second tabs extending in the same direction from the base and being generally parallel to one another. The first and second tabs are spaced apart a distance corresponding generally to the width of the support member, e.g., beam, to which the fabrication strip is secured. The second tabs include a first portion extending parallel to the first tab and a second portion extending generally at right angles to the first portion. The second portions are spaced longitudinally on the base of the fabrication strip a predetermined distance from one another corresponding to the distance desired between adjacent studs extending parallel to one another. Placement of the studs against the same side of the second portions of the second tabs will properly space the studs from one another. If desired, third tabs may be formed on the base of the fabrication strip in opposed relationship to the second tabs. Such construction is desirable for use with rafters.
