Abstract:

A method and system for patch management. The method and system automatically determines a set of patches applicable to a target device and initiates transfer, if necessary, to the target device and records which patches if any, have been transferred to the target device. The method and system also automatically distributes patches to a target device based on policy, state and management data. The method and system allow patches to be automatically acquired and managed for patch gap, patch vulnerability and patch security compliance.

Abstract:

A flow control device which consists of a tubular body having radial sets of orifices therein covered by a resilient member which defines an annular space to which the orifices are connected. The resilient member permits positive pressure to drive fluid through the orifices but prevents negative pressure from sucking air through the orifices. A spring urges the resilient member against one of the sets of orifices.

Abstract:

An intravenous system is provided which includes a source of intravenous fluid, a needle or catheter for insertion into the vascular system of a patient, a pump for pumping the intravenous fluid via the needle or catheter into the patient and catheters coupling the pump to the source and to the needle. The pump includes an arrangement to terminate pumping upon an opening upon one of the catheters to ambient atmosphere. A flow control is provided in at least one of the catheters to prevent movement of air through the corresponding catheters into the patient.
