Abstract:

A device receives bandwidth information associated with a very small aperture terminal (VSAT) network. The device calculates burstable and allocated bandwidths for VSAT carriers of the VSAT network to ensure that the VSAT carriers have bandwidth available for traffic that exceeds a minimum target burstable bandwidth. The device also implements the burstable and allocated bandwidths in the VSAT network.

Abstract:

An illuminated enclosure mounted on the vertical front wall of a vehicle to reduce aerodynamic drag of the vehicle and to display a trademark, name, logo or the like. The major portion of the enclosure is first painted black so as to be substantially impervious to the passage of light. An illuminated area is convered by translucent paint or a decalcomania arranged to display the trademark, name or logo to be displayed. A lighting device is mounted on the front wall of the vehicle and connected to its electrical system. The lighting device has a plurality of spaced light bulbs arranged transversely across the midportion of the illuminated area. In use, the illuminated area is lighted from within the enclosure for observation by others as the vehicle moves along the highway.

Abstract:

A self-contained, self-propelled air-conditioning system is provided for supplying air to structures, such as aircraft on the ground at airports. The aircraft are of the type having an inlet duct for conveying the air through the structure. The system includes a suitable truck having a frame or chassis mounted on wheels. The system also includes a diesel engine separate from the engine of the truck mounted on the chassis for supplying mechanical energy and an electrical generator mechanically connected to the diesel engine for changing the mechanical energy into electrical energy. A ventilation system is mounted on the frame and is electrically connected to the generator for moving air from the ambience to the inlet duct. A pair of independent refrigeration systems, each including a compressor, are mounted on the frame. The compressors are electrically connected to the generator.

Abstract:

An apparatus for reducing the aerodynamic drag of a refrigerated trailer of the type having a front wall and a refrigeration unit on the front wall. The apparatus comprises a wind deflector configured to reduce the aerodynamic drag of the refrigerated trailer. The wind deflector is attached to the refrigeration unit for movement between a drag-reducing position and an access position in which the wind deflector is displaced from the drag-reducing position to provide improved access to the refrigeration unit.

Abstract:

An aerodynamic enclosure for a refrigerated trailer. The enclosure fits over the upper portion of the front wall of the trailer, enclosing the factory installed refrigeration unit and motor. The enclosure has an upper front opening which fits around the air opening of the refrigeration equipment. A second front opening is covered with hinged doors to provide access to the refrigeration equipment. A pair of side openings are covered by hinged doors and provide access to the refrigeration controls and equipment. A top opening provides an outlet for air from the enclosure. The enclosure is symmetrical about its vertical axis and is aerodynamically contoured to reduce wind resistance and provide substantial economies in fuel consumption. An auxiliary door may be used to cover the upper front opening of the enclosure when the refrigeration equipment is not in use.
