Abstract:
A split switch case has a base and a mounting bracket fitted thereto. The top wall of the latter has a lateral rib defining sockets for receiving shoulder portions of the actuator. Plungers in the actuator can bottom out to break free the switch contacts should they fuse together. The rocker has a unique shape and is coupled to the actuator for positive pivotal movement on a lateral axis defined by surfaces in the rocker and in the mounting bracket's top wall rib. In the illuminated switch shown, the lamp circuit has at least one lead provided in a slot defined inside the mounting bracket. The lamp can be mounted in the mounting bracket either from above or from below, two depending legs will accommodate a conventional LED from either direction.

Abstract:
A miniature rotary switch has nested terminals in its bottom wall and a spherical shaped movable contact arranged in a rotatable control member such that a lower portion of the ball rides over upwardly projecting portions of a common contact ring that is nested in the lower portion of a cavity defined in the switch housing or body portion. One of the terminals is staked to the contact ring to provide an OFF position while the other circumaxially spaced positions are defined by U-shaped cut outs in the contact ring that cause the ball to seat between the edges of each U-shaped cut out and the upper end of a fixed contact terminal provided in the semi-circular cut-out area defined by the common contact ring. The ring is so formed that the ball is releasably retained in each switch position and is biased toward such ON positions when not so retained.
An electric switch for converting to rotary motion a rocker style switching mechanism. A switch cavity is formed in the case and a movable contact is provided in the switch cavity. A knob is coupled to an actuator mounted in the cavity for positive pivotal movement on a lateral axis. The knob contains cams formed in an interior knob cavity and is mounted on the switch so that when the knob is rotated on an axis perpendicular to the pivot axis of the actuator, the cams engage the actuator to move the movable contact between "ON" and "OFF" positions.
