Abstract:

A fluid-actuated cylinder includes a piston rod with a circumferential groove. A split ring, with predetermined linear expansion properties, is cooled to a temperature below the temperature of the rod, and the ring halves are located in the groove. The ring is then equalized with the temperature of the rod, and expands into compression against the sidewalls of the groove. An interference fit is provided with the groove, which prevents axial and rotational movement of the ring with respect to the piston rod. The expansion also prestresses the piston rod between the groove sidewalls. The split ring is then connected to an annular flange on a ring-shaped piston to fix the piston with respect to the piston rod. The piston rod assembly is then located in a cylinder housing, with the piston providing a fluid seal with the cylinder walls as the piston rod reciprocates.

Abstract:

Methods and computer-readable media for propagating content category information to images stored in a database are described. A seed image that is associated with a known content category is received. A content-based image retrieval is conducted using the seed image as a search query image. A number of search result images are identified. The content category is propagated to the search result images. Metadata associated with the search result images is aggregated and analyzed to identify domains that should also be associated with the content category. Additional images that are associated with the domain are identified and the content category propagated thereto. The process is iterated using the additional images as search query images for the content-based image retrieval.

Abstract:

Image descriptor identifiers are used for content-based search. A plurality of descriptors is determined for an image. The descriptors represent the content of the image at respective interest points identified in the image. The descriptors are mapped to respective descriptor identifiers. The image can thus be represented as a set of descriptor identifiers. A search is performed on an index using the descriptor identifiers as search elements. A method for efficiently searching the inverted index is also provided. Candidate images that include at least a predetermined number of descriptor identifiers that match those of the image are identified. The candidate images are ranked and at least a portion thereof are presented as content-based search results.

Abstract:

Locking apparatus for a piston and cylinder device includes a locking plunger connected to the piston and disposed between the piston and an end cap of the piston and cylinder device. The locking plunger includes a sleeve which carries a plurality of radially movable ball bearings. As the piston is moved toward an extreme position of the device, the ball bearings contact a spring loaded locking plug disposed in the head of the device, thereby moving the plug away from a first position. The piston and locking plunger continue to move the locking plug away from the first position until the balls are aligned with a circumferential groove or channel in the head. At this point the locking plug is moved to the first position under spring force, in turn moving the ball bearings radially outward into engagement with the channel or groove. The piston and piston rod of the device are thereby locked in position in the absence of fluid pressure. The locking plug includes surfaces against which pressurized fluid acts at the beginning of a return stroke to move the plug away from the first position and release the ball bearings from the channel.

Abstract:

This disclosure describes methods, non-transitory computer readable storage media, and systems that generate a digital knowledge graph based on a plurality of tutorial content items to generate recommendations of digital resource items. Specifically, the disclosed system extracts a plurality of tasks, subject categories related to the tasks, and context signals related to an environment for the tasks from a plurality of tutorial content items for one or more digital content editing applications. The disclosed system generates a digital knowledge graph including nodes corresponding to the tasks and subject categories connected via edges based on relationships extracted from the tutorial content items. In some embodiments, the disclosed system also includes nodes corresponding to digital resource items in the digital knowledge graph or in a subgraph. The disclosed system utilizes the digital knowledge graph with context data to provide a recommendation of digital resource items for display at a client device.

Per-viewer engagement-based video optimization is disclosed. A request for content associated with a first client is received. A model associated with the first client is obtained. The obtained model comprises at least one of behavior and playback preferences of a viewer associated with the first client. The obtained model is used to determine, for the first client, an optimal set of instructions usable to obtain content. Abstract:

The present disclosure describes methods and apparatuses for testing an integrated circuit. In some aspects, a test engine of a system-on-chip (SoC) receives a test trigger from an external test port of a multi-chip module. The multi-chip module includes the SoC and integrated circuitry. Responsive to receiving the test trigger, the test engine initiates execution of a test associated with the integrated circuitry. The test engine also generates test data associated with the test and provides the test data at the external test port of the MCM. In this manner, internal tests can be executed within the multi-chip module. In other aspects, the SoC and the integrated circuitry are not packaged together. The test engine can receive the test trigger from a test port of the SoC and initiate execution of the test. In this way, the SoC may act as a test instrument for the integrated circuitry.
