    A method and apparatus for biasing of network node packet prioritization based on packet content. The method may include marking a packet of data from a data stream of packets. The packet can be marked with a packet type such that subsequent nodes determine the relative priority of the packet with respect to other packets from the same data stream based on the packet type marking. The marked packet can then be transmitted. According to a related corresponding embodiment, a method can include receiving a packet at a node in a network, the node including a plurality of packet queues including a higher priority queue and a lower priority queue. The relative priority of the packet can be determined relative to other packets from the same packet source and intended for the same destination, where the relative priority can be based on the contents of the packet. The relative priority may also be based on a marking of the packet. The packet can be assigned to a higher priority queue based on a higher relative priority of the packet.

    A secure framework for wireless sensor networks. The framework provides a system and method for providing network device authentication. The system and method comprises installing a unique device key in a network device and creating a chain of keys, wherein each subsequent key is encrypted using the previous key. The method executes an authentication process for storing and issuing keys, wherein the authentication process uses a unique device key to install a device site key in the network device and uses the device site key and the unique device key to authenticate the network device for communicating with a wireless network router, wherein the wireless network router creates a unique network-device-router key. The unique network-device-router key is used to authenticate the network device for communicating over the wireless network using an encrypted network session key and allows secure encrypted link-layer communications over the wireless network.

    A system for controlling a wind turbine is disclosed. A system includes a light source and a beam scanner to scan the light pulses over the wind turbine. The system further receives backscattered light pulses and subsequently, provides a signal corresponding to the light pulses. The system adjusts a threshold of the signal based on a normalized value of a detected peak value of the signal. The system associates a time of flight with each of the received backscattered light pulse. The system generates an image of the wind turbine based on the time of flight associated with the light pulses and subsequently, compares the generated image with at least one known image of the wind turbine. The system generates a health profile of the wind turbine based on the comparison and subsequently, change one or more parameters of the wind turbine based on the health profile.
