Abstract:
In a synchronous code division multiple access (SCDMA) time division duplex (TDD) communication system, a remote terminal uses both open loop and closed loop techniques for synchronization with a base station. The timing of reception of information by tile remote terminal is performed with an open loop technique, while the timing of transmissions from the terminal is performed with a closed loop technique. Furthermore, a clock locked loop in the terminal compensates for differences between clocks of the terminal and the base station. The clock locked loop responds to signals from both the aforesaid open loop and closed loop techniques.

Abstract:
Thin-film vanadium oxide layer that is suitable for use as a cathode in a lithium ion battery or other electronic applications, such as ion insertion layers in electrochromic devices as well as other uses, is deposited by a plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition at room temperature at rates as high as 11 /sec. from a vanadium-containing precursor reacted with oxygen and hydrogen. The vanadium oxide-based cathode produced by a lower temperature process and at a high deposition rate, exhibits a high discharge capacity, a high energy density, and a negligible capacity fade fiom its second cycle to at least 2,900 cycles, thus providing enhanced cyclic stability and an improved component for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and other electronic devices.

Abstract:
A method and computing device for transcoding video data are provided herein. In examples, the method includes decoding a video stream to obtain decoded frames. Further, a decode parameter may be extracted from the video stream, and the frames may be encoded using the decode parameter. The decode parameter may be a decode streamout.

Abstract:
A process for treating lignocellulosic biomass is described. The process includes treating particulate biomass with alkali to partially remove hemicellulose sheath on cellulose microfibrils of the biomass; and carrying out an oxidation reaction on the alkali treated biomass to form a treated biomass having a disrupted cellulose crystalline structure. The treated biomass may be further processed to form free sugars and lignin and the free sugars can be used to produce bio-ethanol or used as sugar source in fermentation processes.
Led Synchronization For Virtual And Augmented Reality Devices
A master clock signal for an image capture device and a light emission device is accessed. The master clock signal is divided to generate a high frequency clock signal. A frame timer is used to measure a frame time of the image capture device based on cycles of the high frequency clock signal. Based on an exposure timing signal from the image capture device, estimating an exposure start time for the image capture device; is estimated. Based on the estimated starting time, the light emission device begins emission of a positional tracking pattern at the estimated starting time and for a duration determined by the measured frame time of the image capture device.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method for virtualized scheduling. For example, one embodiment of a graphics processing apparatus comprises: a graphics processor comprising a plurality of graphics processing engines, each of the graphics processing engines usable to execute graphics program code for a plurality of graphics contexts, each of the graphics contexts associated with a particular user mode driver (UMD); and a scheduler to schedule the graphics program code for execution on the plurality of graphics engines, the scheduler comprising an integrated context queue to store program code from all of the graphics contexts, the scheduler to select graphics processing engines to execute the program code from each context based on a detected load and/or availability of each graphics processing engine and to determine an order for executing the program code from each context based on relative priorities associated with the different contexts.
