Abstract:

Systems and methods are provided for preserving the privacy of data contained in mirrored network traffic. The mirrored network traffic may comprise data that may be considered confidential, privileged, private, or otherwise sensitive data. For example, the data payload of a frame of mirrored network traffic may include private Voice over IP (VoIP) communications between users on one or more networks. The present invention provides various techniques for securing the privacy of data contained in the mirrored network traffic. Using the techniques of the present invention, network traffic comprising confidential, privileged, private, or otherwise sensitive data may be mirrored in such a manner as to provide for the privacy of such data over at least a portion if not all of the mirrored communications between the mirror source point and the mirror destination point.

Abstract:

A lost contact policy response system and related method for adjusting the operation of one or more network infrastructure devices upon detection of a loss of contact with a policy server function. The response system includes a policy enforcement function (“PEF”), a policy manager function, and either or both of policy set(s) and policy enforcement rule (“PER”) set(s). The PEF implements stored or generated PER set(s). The policy manager function includes a monitoring function and an analysis function. The monitoring function monitors for continuing connectivity or signal exchange contact with a network policy server function. The analysis function selects a designated policy, policy set, PER or PER set, and instructs the PEF to implement the selected policy, PER or set. The policy and/or PER sets may be pre-installed, updated, re-installed, revised, or otherwise changed when and as desired. The related method includes corresponding steps for implementing the operations of the functions described.

Abstract:

A system and method to monitor, detect, analyze and respond to, triggering conditions associated with packet and signal flows in a network system including attached functions and a network infrastructure. The system includes a detection function, an analysis function, and a response function. The detection function includes a monitoring sub-function, a flow definition sub-function, and a monitor counter sub-function. The flow definition sub-function defines the types of activities associated with the traffic flow that may indicate a triggering condition requiring analysis and potentially a response. The monitor sub-function observes traffic flows. The monitor counter sub-function counts the defined types of activities occurring in the device. The analysis function analyzes the event from the monitored flows, flow counters, status and other network information and determines whether a response is required. The response function initiates a response to a perceived event or attack based on the events detected in the flow metrics and other data. The response function further includes a sub-function for activating changes throughout the network system based on receiving and sending event notifications. Responses generated by the response function include dynamic policy changes.

Abstract:

A belt guard lock for a belt guard pivotable on a pivot shaft affixed thereto and supported in a pivot frame attached to the sewing machine table, which guard lock effectively prevents pivoting of the belt guard by a sewing machine operator but may be readily defeated by a suitably authorized maintenance man. The guard lock fits about the pivot shaft affixed to the belt guard and remains therewith, so as to be available for use in any machine to which it is attached. The guard lock is implemented by a collar slidable on the pivot shaft and having a flange thereof which extends between the lower edge of the belt guard and the sewing machine table to prevent rotation of the belt guard. The belt guard lock may be rendered ineffective by loosening a special set screw inpinging on the pivot shaft and sliding along the pivot shaft to a position where the flange thereof is aligned with a slot in the belt guard to accommodate the flange during pivoting motion of the guard.

Abstract:

An instant television penalty flag alert system is provided which superimposes a video flag upon video images of sports events in progress, such as football or hockey. A plurality of spotters are equipped with transmitter which are activated whenever a predetermined event, such as a penalty call, is observed. A receiver detects the transmitted signal and superimposes the video flag which alerts the viewer that a penalty has been called. Transmitters may be frequency coded to identify the spotter to a control operator, and/or announcer, and/or the viewing audience. Alternatively, various modulation schemes, such as amplitude modulation, frequency modulation or pulse width modulation may be used. The actual position of the play may be transmitted using a transmitter with alpha-numeric input.
