Abstract:

A novel gene (designated PHOR-1) that is highly over-expressed in prostate and other cancers and its encoded protein are described. PHOR-1 is a G protein-coupled receptor with homology to receptors involved in olfaction. PHOR-1 in normal human tissues is restricted to prostate, and this gene is highly over-expressed in prostate cancer as well as in cancers of the kidney, uterus, cervix, stomach and rectum. Consequently, PHOR-1 provides a diagnostic and/or therapeutic target for prostate cancer.

Abstract:

A method of doing business on the internet by which the manufacturer maintains an on-line presence without bypassing and without alienating the retailer and the distributor such that the manufacturer, distributor and independent retailer all share in the profits of on-line sales. The method employs a purchase coordinator that provides participating retailers with web sites affiliated with the manufacturer. The purchase coordinator obtains product data and price data from the manufacturer, distributor and retailer; receives orders from internet customers; selects a distributor to fill the order; and processes a monetary transaction for the order such that the distributor, retailer, and the manufacturers are each credited with a sum representing their portion of the total value of the order according to the price data.

Abstract:

A protective flooring which includes a plurality of floor segments wherein each one of the floor segments has a top surface, a bottom surface, and an interior peripheral edge. At least one anchor connected to and depending from the bottom surface of selected ones of the segments, each one of the anchors comprises an elongate cylindrical tube with a central bore, and apertures that provide communication with the bore. Each floor segment includes at least one notch in the peripheral edge thereof, a base connector affixed to the bottom surface of the floor segment defined by the notch. When the floor segments are assembled, the notches in the peripheral edges of the adjacent floor segments correspond so that the respective base connectors are proximate to each other. A U-shaped connector engages each proximate pair of corresponding base connectors so as to join together the adjacent floor segments.

Abstract:

An improved combination sports' helmet and interlocking cap is disclosed including a helmet having a crown portion and a pair of ear portions and including a dual pair of receptacles disposed therein, one pair of receptacles disposed on the crown thereof, and the other pair disposed in the ear portions thereof; a cap for the helmet adapted to mate over the exterior portion of the helmet in near conformity therewith, said cap having a dual pair of male interlocking portions therein, one of said pair of male interlocking portions being operably adapted to removably interlock with the pair of receptacles disposed on the crown of the helmet, and the other pair of said male interlocking portions being operably adapted to removably interlock with said pair of receptacles disposed in the ear portions of the helmet. A molded rubber recreational block locking system, wherein a molded rubber recreational surface block includes an upper surface and a resilient supporting structure below the upper surface. At least one recessed shoulder is located below the upper surface and intersects a marginal edge of the molded rubber recreational surface block.
