Abstract:

A coaxial-to-coplanar waveguide connector is used for interconnecting stripline compatible devices utilizing coaxial cable. The connector is formed at the end of a length of coaxial cable embedded within a circuit board. The connector generally has a substantially semi-circular connection section. The connection section includes a conductor partly surrounded by an electrically insulative dielectric which is partly surrounded by a shield. An electrically conductive sheet is used to couple the shield to a ground plane of the circuit board. Electrically conductive ribbon is connect the conductor to a stripline compatible device. The coaxial-to-coplanar waveguide connector may be fabricated by coating a dielectric board with an adhesive material and then routing a length of miniature coaxial cable in the adhesive. Conductive material and dielectric material are consecutively laid upon the dielectric cable board. A portion of the board including a section of miniature coaxial cable is milled so as to remove a top portion of the cable.

Abstract:

An automatic control means for overriding the manually operable fast/slow control switch of a sewing machine to assure slow speed operation while the machine is operating in skip stitch mode, such as while basting to facilitate positive latching and unlatching of the needle bar. The automatic control means cooperates with the needle bar lateral jogging mechanism of the sewing machine such that when the needle bar is jogged beyond a predetermined range of laterally jogged positions, wherein skip stitch mode is effected, the automatic control means will automatically impose slow speed operation independent of the setting of the fast/slow control switch as selected by the operator.

Abstract:

An apparatus for mechanically moving a sliding contact associated with an indexing assembly along a series of contact pads. The contact pads are sequentially arranged whereby flash lamps connected thereto and disposed in an array mounted on an associated camera are fired in sequence upon closing of an energizing circuit in the course of actuating the camera shutter. The apparatus includes an indicator device for indicating which flashlamp in the array is electrically connected to the firing circuit through the sliding contact.

Abstract:

A clutch element fastened to the end of a sewing machine main shaft by a shouldered screw is slidable thereon to a first position wherein axially extending clutch fingers thereof extend through guide notches in an interlock element fixed to the main shaft by the shouldered screw, into axially aligned recesses in a belt driven handwheel so as to drive the sewing machine main shaft. In a second position of the clutch element, the axially extending fingers thereof are withdrawn from the recesses in the handwheel so that the sewing machine main shaft is not driven. Detent means are provided to maintain the clutch element in a selected position.

A control mechanism is attached to a sewing machine frame with a bayonet type connection including a slotted plate on the control mechanism and a spring biased pin which is axially movable in the frame and is extendable through an enlarged one end portion of a slot in the plate. The pin includes an enlargement which, when the plate is turned is caused to enter an opposite end portion of the slot and lock the control onto the frame.
