Abstract:

A chalk line is marked by attaching two hooks to a nail, and then extending a string a length from the nail. The hooks are attached to an apparatus that has multiple springs, such that there is a string attached to the rear of the apparatus while the hooks are attached to the front of the apparatus. When the string has been extended the desired length, the user then snaps the line to make a chalk line. Then, the pull on the string is released by the user, causing the two hooks to separate. When the two hooks separate, their connection to the nail is broken. The hooks and the apparatus associated with the hooks then is free to be reeled back to the user. The user does not have to return to the nail to remove the hooks and the associated apparatus.

Abstract:

A soft plastic articulating fishing lure includes a head and a plurality of body sections integrally molded with hinge sections. The hinge sections are preferably smaller in height than the respective body sections they join to promote increased swimming action at lower pull speed. Central body sections are preferably molded with relatively rounded back and relatively flatter front to promote water flow to effect swim-like movement of the lure. When fished, the lure articulates at the hinge joints only. In one embodiment, the head portion includes a molded slot, and a weighted insert is provided therein defining eyes for fishing line and hook, and a weights for lure control. In another embodiment, an insert with hook is provided within a slot in the head of the head and the hook is caused to rotate upwards out of the recess and into the mouth of the fish to hook the fish.

Abstract:

A nozzle system for imparting compound motion, including an orbital component and a rotational component, to the discharged fluid. The nozzle system comprises a specially engineered shell surrounding a freely flexible hose of sufficient structural integrity to simultaneously exhibit two different motion characteristics to impart the compound motion to the discharged fluid. When fluid is delivered to the nozzle system, the hose moves orbitally; that is, the hose rides against the wall of the shell in a cork screwing manner. Simultaneously, the hose rotates or twists back and forth about its own axis relative to its fixed end. Both components of motion are imparted to the discharged fluid to enhance spray power and expanse.
