Abstract:

A method of covering an anomaly in a wall substantially to match a pre-existing texture pattern surrounding the anomaly. The method comprises the following steps. A valve is supported on a container assembly to define a main chamber. Contained material comprising wall material concentrate and propellant material is disposed within the main chamber. An actuator relative is arranged relative to the container assembly such that displacement of a button relative to the valve changes the valve from a closed configuration to an open configuration in which a portion of the propellant material is allowed to force the contained material out of the main chamber through the outlet. A first portion of the contained material is applied to the anomaly by directing the outlet at the anomaly and displacing the button. Optionally, a second portion of the contained material may be applied to the base coat by directing the outlet at the base coat and displacing the button. If applied, the second portion of the contained material forms a desired texture pattern on the base coat that substantially matches the pre-existing texture pattern.

Abstract:

A system for dispensing texture material in a desired spray pattern that substantially matches an existing texture pattern on a target surface comprises an aerosol dispenser, concentrate, and propellant material. The aerosol dispenser has an inner surface comprised at least in part of tin-plated steel. The concentrate comprises a solvent/carrier comprising water, a resin/binder, filler material, a first anti-corrosion material, and a second anti-corrosion material. The first anti-corrosion material is a phosphate ester and comprises approximately 0. 5-2. 0% by weight of the concentrate. Abstract:

Test, auxiliary and reference electrodes are immersed in a corrodant fluid. The test electrode is cathodically polarized by a cathodic polarization circuit. Peak current flow in the auxiliary electrode is measured and a linear cathodic polarization function is generated by a computer circuit. The test electrode is forwardly and reversely anodically polarized by an anodic polarization circuit. A comparator circuit senses the voltage of the test electrode with respect to the auxiliary electrode during reverse anodic polarization and compares this value to the cathodic polarization function. When the test electrode voltage and cathodic polarization function are equal, an anodic memory circuit stores the value of the current passing through the test electrode. This current is the pitting current which is converted into pitting rate.
