Abstract:

In an automated vehicle (AV) system, interdependencies between components of the AV are determined, an operational domain state of one or more of the components can be determined based on the determined interdependencies, and an output signal representing the operational domain state of the one or more components can be generated. A user interface can present a notification based on the output signal to notify the driver and/or other occupants of the AV of the operational domain state of one or more of the components.

Abstract:

A current mirror circuit connectible to an amplifier circuit to set a bias point thereof includes a current mirror circuit, and a bias resistor connected thereto. The bias resistor is connectible to the amplifier circuit. A first helper circuit is connected in parallel with the bias resistor, and is selectively activated for a first predetermined duration by a first control signal. The activated first helper circuit defines a lower resistance path relative to the bias resistor to shorten a rising transient response of the amplifier circuit as the current mirror circuit is activated.

Abstract:

The invention relates to protein nanocapsules that exhibit material properties that change in different in vivo environments. A zwitterion moiety on the surface of the nanocapsule can protect the protein from opsonization in a first environment, yet uncouples from the protein nanocapsule in a second environment (e.g. at a pH of less than 6.5). In embodiments of the invention, the uncoupled protein nanocarrier is then internalized by mammalian cells (e.g. tumor cells).

Abstract:

Four extensions to the conventional field specialization process are disclosed. The first extension is cross-application value flows, where a value transfers out of one application and subsequently into another application. The second extension is an inter-application analysis. Static and dynamic analysis is performed by a Spiff Toolset not just on the source code of a single application, but also across the data read and written by that application. The third extension is invariant cross-application termination, verifying the possibility of an invariant originating in an application and terminating in a specialization opportunity in a separate application. The fourth extension relates to run-time code placement algorithms to mitigate an increase in I-cache pressure and L2-cache pressure. A MaxResidency algorithm uses information from dynamic analysis of provided workloads before DBMS compilation and specific structure of the query evaluation plan to place run-time code, thus retaining possible run time improvement of that code.

Abstract:

Spatial exploration systems and methods of spatial exploration utilizing spatial sound in accordance with various embodiments of the invention are disclosed. In one embodiment, a spatial exploration system acquires sensor data and constructs a 3D spatial model of a surrounding real world environment. The system can instantiate a 3D object at a location within the 3D spatial model corresponding to the location of a real world feature, determine a location and orientation of a user within the 3D spatial model, and generate an audio clip containing vocalized information describing the feature. The spatial exploration system can then output a spatial sound describing the identified feature by modifying an audio clip based upon the position of the 3D object relative to the location and orientation of the user within the 3D spatial model to encode audio cues as to the location of the feature in the surrounding real world environment.

Abstract:

A bathroom vanity with wheelchair accessibility may include a counter and a cabinet. The bathroom vanity can be used by both normal and handicapped users. In one embodiment, when the cabinet is moved away from the counter, a space is created underneath the counter for the wheelchaired user to operate the wheelchair to enter it. The height of the counter can be determined according to the height of the wheelchair and the user. Also, the pipes connected to the faucet of the counter can be all hidden in the wall so there is no obstacle in front of the user when the wheelchair is moved into the space. Since the wheels are disposed underneath the cabinet, the cabinet can be easily moved back to its original position underneath the counter, even for the wheelchaired user.

Abstract:

Methods for modifying therapeutic agents such as therapeutic biomolecules, such as proteins for improved oral, rectal or transmucosal delivery, as well as compositions made using such methods and methods of administering such compositions to a subject, are disclosed. Specifically, the therapeutic agents are conjugated to hyperbranched polymers (HBPs), such as hyperbranched polyglycerol (HPG). When such conjugates are administered orally to a subject, the HBP protects the therapeutic agent from the acid environment of the stomach and protease attack in the gastro-intestinal tract, while facilitating the absorption of the therapeutic agent in the higher pH environment of the intestines. The methods and compositions are useful for the improved administration of a variety of therapeutic agents to a subject.
