Abstract:

A bookmark includes a seamless elastic band which is stretchable to loop around a group of pages in a book and around a cover of the book in order to identify a page place in the book. The band includes a slider thereon which has a front surface are that receives an image which is on one side of a sticker. When a bookmark is placed on a book, the slide is moveable along the elastic band while the elastic band is stationary, so that the slider can be placed at different locations on the cover of the book.

A holder for holding a phone on a support structure such as a handlebar of a stroller includes a mount for releasable connection with the support structure. A base is supported on the mount for receiving and supporting the phone. A slider is supported on the base for sliding movement relative to the base between a first position enabling removal of the phone from the holder and at least one clamping position blocking removal of the phone from the holder.

Abstract:

A system and method for generating automated autographs on a computer with a memory and a processor, including a scanner for inputting handwritten writing samples and a content management system stored on a computer readable medium adapted to perform the steps of reading the handwritten samples, converting each into a type font, wherein each fonts identically resembles the corresponding handwritten sample, inputting an autograph comprising a message created in a font, and creating an electronic file corresponding to a photograph with an autograph, wherein the autograph appears to have been written by the person who submitted the handwritten sample. The content management system is customized by one or more coding language databases, and is adapted to read and process multiple different writing samples simultaneously, whether sent synchronously or asynchronously, to allow a user to select from a plurality of fonts to include in an autograph.

Abstract:

A non-invasive method for continuously monitoring blood and tissue oxygenation of a human fetus prior to and during labor and delivery. A specialized NMR spectrometer, whose static-field magnet is large enough to admit the abdomen of a pregnant woman at term, obtains resonance signals from a spatial region within the mother that includes the fetus. Resonance signals originating from the oxygen-transport protein hemoglobin are continuously obtained and analyzed. Signals originating from the special form of hemoglobin found in the fetal circulation are distinguished from those from the adult form of hemoglobin found in the maternal circulation. By continuously comparing the amplitudes of specific fetal hemoglobin resonances that are characteristically shifted upon oxygen binding with the amplitudes of other fetal hemoglobin resonances that are not so shifted, the method yields a continuous measurement of fetal blood and tissue oxygenation. Further analysis of the resonance signals yields indications of fetal blood acidity, heartbeat and respiration and corresponding indications of maternal condition. The method is also applicable to newborn infants and to certain mammals other than humans.
